The Saul Sanchez Trio is a DFW–based jazz trio known for its deep respect for tradition, compelling original compositions, and intuitive musical connection. Featuring Saul Sanchez on piano, Joseph Fisher-Schramm on bass, and Jon Phelps on drums, the trio has been performing together for over five years, developing a sound that’s both rooted in history and forward-looking.

Inspired by the bebop era, blues traditions, and modern jazz language, the group delivers a straight-ahead sound that feels both timeless and fresh. Their sets move seamlessly between jazz standards and original works — all grounded in swing, intentional improvisation, and dynamic interplay.
